These criteria aim to recognize carbon reduction projects that demonstrate innovation, effectiveness, lifecycle sustainability, scalability, and potential for generating positive co-benefits in addressing climate change challenges.

CRITERIA

1. Carbon Emission Reduction: Evaluate the project's effectiveness in reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gas emissions. Consider the magnitude of emissions reductions achieved through the project compared to baseline levels, as well as the methods and strategies employed to mitigate emissions across different sectors or sources.

2. Innovation and Technology: Assess the degree of innovation and technological sophistication demonstrated by the project in reducing carbon emissions. This may include the adoption of renewable energy technologies, energy efficiency measures, carbon capture and storage (CCS)solutions, and other innovative approaches to decarbonizing energy production, industrial processes, transportation, and buildings.

3. Lifecycle Assessment: Consider the lifecycle assessment of the project to account for emissions associated with its planning, implementation, operation, and decommissioning phases. Evaluate the project's ability to minimize carbon emissions throughout its lifecycle, including upstream and downstream impacts, as well as any potential trade-offs or unintended consequences associated with emission reduction measures.

4. Scalability and Replicability: Assess the scalability and replicability of the project in other geographic locations, industries, or sectors. Consider the feasibility of transferring the project's methodologies, technologies, and best practices to other contexts to achieve broader emissions reduction goals and accelerate global efforts to combat climate change.

5. Co-benefits and Sustainability: Examine the project's ability to generate co-benefits beyond carbon emission reductions, such as improved air quality, public health benefits, job creation, economic development, and enhanced resilience to climate change impacts. Evaluate the project's contribution to sustainable development goals and its alignment with broader environmental, social, and economic priorities.
